What is the Safe Disclosure Office

The SDO will be closed for a scheduled break from March 28 to April 6 and will respond to your inquiry within 3 business days of reopening. Your understanding and patience is greatly appreciated.

The SDO is currently operating under reduced capacity. As our current wait times for an appointment to speak with an advisor are much longer than usual, you may consider reaching out to your department's Senior HR Business Partner, or to Dispute and Advisory Services about your concerns.  Employees represented by a union may choose to seek advice from their union.

Department Senior HRBPs:

  • Rodney Yaremchuk - City Operations
  • Breanne Tillapaugh - FCS, Employee Services, Legal Services
  • Samantha Hurley - IIS, UPE
  • Sarah Nelubowich - Community Services Portfolio

The Safe Disclosure Office is a resource for all employees where they can seek tools and information, or have their respectful workplace concerns heard.

Employees and volunteers hired or engaged by the City of Edmonton can meet with a Safe Disclosure Office advisor about concerns related to a respectful workplace when they are unable to bring them forward to their supervisor. The advisor will listen to the workplace concern, provide information about possible next steps, and identify other resources that may be available.

All employees, including supervisors, people leaders, and management are welcome to contact the SDO for information about the processes, tools and supports available to create and maintain a respectful workplace that is free from discrimination and harassment. The SDO will only discuss individual files or concerns with the reporter who brought it forward.
